Writer, esoteric explorer and poet Alex Langstone [1] was born in 1965 and spent an idyllic childhood among the gently rolling arable farmland and woodland of rural east Essex. He began his writing career in 1988 with cult underground mysteries magazine Albion's Sacred Heritage (ASH Magazine). Visit the online archive here: ASH Magazine Archive. He edited the magazine, which covered subjects as diverse as witchcraft, earth mysteries, esoteric Christianity, psychic questing and British paganism, from Autumn 1988 through to the Spring 1993 edition, when he left the magazine to pursue other creative interests.

In 1992, Alex published a booklet called Bega and The Sacred Ring, which detailed his account of the now legendary quest of St Bega and the sacred mysteries of Cumbria. This successful booklet was followed in 1994 by a series of poems which were published by Poetry Now. This creative writing period for Poetry Now lasted for 4 years, with many poems being seen in print, including Awaiting Twilight Upon Lucifer Bridge (1995) and Like Argante or Igraine You've Become (1997), which was written about the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. To view poetry click the following: Lucifer Bridge. Alex also published an occasional journal called The Lighthouse which showcased new pagan arts and goddess culture in the UK.

During 2000 and 2001, Alex took another look at his psychic questing archive. At that time many articles were appearing about this controversial subject on the web, and with this resurgence in interest, Alex felt the time was right to start collecting material together in readiness to write a definitive book on the subject. Using his experiences working with many people within the Psychic questing community including Andrew Collins[2], Yuri Leitch, Deborah Benstead, Carole Young and Paul Weston.

Spirit Chaser is the creative result of this project, and will catalogue all of the work Alex has done over the last 16 years on this most remarkable of all Psychic Quests! An esoteric, poetic journey to unravel to sacredness of Cumbria, the mysteries surrounding the legend of St Bega, the secrets of the mythological landscape of Britain and the reality of the sacred centre of the British Isles.

Spirit Chaser is still being worked upon, with new information coming to light all the time. A release date is still someway off, but readers can now access Alex's earlier works by visitng his website.

Alex is also a bard within the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, (founded by Ross Nichols) and is an initiate of The Fellowship of Isis. He is head of the Druid Grove of Bega and is a member of the ArchDruid Union of the Druid Clan of Dana. He has been studying as a Reiki Master for 15 years, having trained with Reiki Masters; Martha Sylvester, Joan Flashman and Paul Weston.

Alex currently lives in North Cornwall with his partner, artist and illustrator Paul Atlas-Saunders, where he spends his time writing, performing Druid ceremonies, book collecting and working as a horticultural adviser.
